This art series serves as a tribute to the victims and survivors of the genocide in Congo (Africa) by King Leopold II of Belguim.

10million souls lost their life in this tragedy. Yet the perpetrator (Leopold) has been forgotten by the annals of time.
This art series serves as a reminder of the genocide and whilst honouring the victims and celebrating the resilience of the African spirit.

May humanity never again perpetrate such injustice against humanity.
We the living have a duty to uphold this.

When creating this artwork, I really felt that I wanted this triptych to be collected by an African and also someday to have it exhibited in a gallery on the continent.
Its an African story and I felt we should take pride from it, in how it shows our fortitude and strength to overcome obstacles and succeed beyond any hurdles.
*I am grateful that this artworks has been purchased by an African Collector and we are now making plans to exhibit it on the continent.
